Cookie Policy:

1. About this policy

This policy explains how Rosa Mae ("we", "us", "our") uses cookies and similar technologies on rosamae.uk. It should be read alongside our [Privacy Policy]. If you have any questions, please email us at rosa@rosamae.uk.

2. What cookies are

Cookies are small text files that a website saves on your computer, phone or tablet when you visit it. They let the website remember things, such as whether a page has loaded correctly or whether you have already seen a message. Similar technologies, such as pixels and local storage, work in much the same way, and this policy covers them too.

3. The cookies we use

We keep our use of cookies to a minimum. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.

Strictly necessary cookies. These are needed for the website to work properly and securely, for example to load pages, protect the site from spam and make our email sign-up form work. Because the website cannot work without them, we do not need your consent to use them.

Our website is built and hosted on Squarespace, which sets these strictly necessary cookies:

The crumb cookie protects the website and its forms, including our sign-up form, from a type of attack called cross-site request forgery. It is deleted when you close your browser.

The ss_cookieAllowed, ss_performancecookiesAllowed and ss_marketingcookiesAllowed cookies remember the choices you make on our cookie banner, so we do not ask you again on every visit. ss_cookieAllowed lasts for 6 months and the other two last for 2 months.

The ss_sd cookie helps the website work correctly during your visit and is deleted when you close your browser.

Our email sign-up form. When you sign up, your email address is sent to Mailchimp, which we use to manage our mailing list. Mailchimp does not set any cookies on our website. Mailchimp may use tracking in the emails we send you, such as recording whether an email was opened. Please see our [Privacy Policy] for more about this.

Analytics cookies. With your permission, we use Squarespace Analytics to understand how visitors use our website, for example how many people visit and which pages are most popular. We use this only to improve the website and do not use it for advertising. These cookies are only set if you accept them on our cookie banner, and you can change your mind at any time using the [Cookie settings] link at the bottom of every page.

Squarespace Analytics uses five cookies. The ss_cid and ss_cvr cookies recognise returning visitors and count their visits, and the ss_cpvisit cookie records when you last visited. These three last for 2 years. The ss_cvisit and ss_cvt cookies track your current visit and count the pages you view, and they expire after 30 minutes.

4. Managing cookies

You can block or delete cookies through your browser settings. Most browsers explain how to do this in their help pages. If you block strictly necessary cookies, parts of the website, including the email sign-up form, may not work.

The Information Commissioner's Office also has guidance on how to control cookies.

5. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy if we change the cookies we use. The latest version will always be on this page.

6. Contact us
